Through advocacy, education and litigation, our attorneys, advocates, and volunteers work to preserve and promote civil liberties including the freedom of speech, the right to privacy, reproductive freedom, and equal treatment under the law.  We stand in defense of the rights of women and minorities, workers, students, immigrants, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, and others who have seen bias and bigotry threaten the rights afforded to all of us in this country by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

SURJ is a national network of groups and individuals organizing white people for racial justice.  Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability.  We work to connect people across the country while supporting and collaborating with local and national racial justice organizing efforts.  SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills, and political analysis to act for change.

Black Lives Matter is an ideological & political intervention in a world where Black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise.  It is an affirmation of Black folks’ contributions to this society, our humanity, and our resilience in the face of deadly oppression.

Bread & Roses Community Fund believes in change, not charity. We organize donors at all levels to support community based groups in building movements for racial equity and economic opportunity.  We support movements and their leaders through fundraising, grant-making, capacity building, and convening.
